I went to Rishikesh thinking about adventure, but the river gave me silence first.
The town had energy everywhere: cafés, travellers, rafting boards, scooters, bridges and music. But near the Ganga, everything inside me slowed down.
I watched the river move with confidence. It did not care how many people came to see it. It kept flowing with the same strength.
Rishikesh felt like two places at once. One side was full of movement and adventure. The other side was quiet, spiritual and deeply still.
I realised I liked both. Maybe that is why people keep returning to Rishikesh. It gives you noise when you need energy and silence when you need yourself.
