We are just people
the mountains called.
Born from a deep love for the mountains, Pahad Calling started as a personal passion — one person, one trail, one story at a time. Today it is a living platform for every soul the hills have ever called.
How it all
started
It started the way most good things do — not with a plan, but with a feeling. A feeling that the mountains were saying something, and that it needed to be written down.
Pahad Calling was born from years of travelling through the hills of Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, and beyond — collecting stories from shepherds, tasting food in roadside dhabas that had no names, walking trails that no app had ever mapped. Every experience felt too important to keep to ourselves.
"The mountains don't give you what you want. They give you what you need. And sometimes, those are the same thing (and no I am not Writer)."
— Founder, Pahad CallingWe started sharing — first through social media, then through longer stories, then through vlogs that tried to capture what photographs couldn't. The response was overwhelming. People weren't just reading. They were writing back, sharing their own stories, asking how they could be part of it.
That's when Pahad Calling stopped being a blog and became something much more meaningful — a community of people who feel the mountains in their bones.
The things we believe in
Every story on Pahad Calling is real. No sponsored itineraries, no paid placements, no polished lies. Just honest accounts of real journeys.
We travel with deep respect for the places we visit. Leave no trace is not just a saying for us — it is the foundation of everything we do.
We are not a media company. We are a community. Every voice matters here — from a first-time trekker to a seasoned Himalayan wanderer.
We write slowly, carefully, and with feeling. A story on Pahad Calling should stay with you long after you've closed the tab.
The real heroes of the mountains are the people who live there. We try to put them at the centre of every story we tell.
Nobody here is doing this for money or fame. We do this because the mountains called — and we answered. That's the whole story.
The faces behind the hills
The one who started it all. Hasn't walked every trail yet, but dreams of discovering every story they hold. Believes the best journeys begin with a simple "What if?" and that mountains have a way of turning strangers into friends. Still collecting trails, stories, and memories— one adventure at a time.
Warning: This human refuses to see mountains from anyone else's lens. He wanders, wonders, and occasionally gets distracted by clouds, Returning with frames that speak louder than crowds. Every photograph tells a story words fail to explain — We'll prove it soon enough.
Digs deeper than the tourist trails, Into forgotten stories, local tales, and grandma-approved meals.History, culture, food, and folklore— For him, there's always one question more. While the rest of us are ready to leave, He's still chatting with a stranger under a village tree.
Never in a hurry, always on the lookout for the next bite. While the rest of us chase summits, he's busy discovering the food stories behind them. Moves slowly up the mountain, but somehow knows exactly where lunch is.
The mountains
brought us here.
